This Week’s Path

Overview 本週重點

This week we go deeper. We sit longer — a full 15 minutes of quiet meditation — and we learn to notice and describe what happens inside. When the mind stops feeling foggy, a bright, calm energy appears. We learn to name that energy in English and to speak kindly to ourselves with affirmations.

English Goal

英文目標

Use rich adjectives to describe inner experience: foggy, wonderful, complete, peaceful. Practice the patterns “Meditation helps me with…” and “I feel… after meditation.” Speak affirmations using “I am…”.

Spiritual Goal

佛學/心靈目標

Understand Samādhi (concentration, 定) as the calm focus that clears the “foggy” mind. Learn the Third Eye as a point of focus, connect meditation with positive energy, and build healthy self-worth through identity affirmations rooted in Buddha-nature.

Sentence Patterns

句型 · Key Patterns
Pattern 1 · How meditation helps you
Meditation helps me with ___.
·Meditation helps me with my homework.
·Meditation helps me with my sleep.
·Meditation helps my brain not feel foggy.
Pattern 2 · Describing how you feel after
I feel ___ after meditation.
·I feel wonderful after meditation.
·I feel calm and complete after meditation.
·When I focus on my third eye, I feel peaceful.
Pattern 3 · Affirmations of identity
I am ___.
·I am love. I am at peace.
·I am enough. I am complete.

Grammar Focus · Adjectives after “feel” and “am”

After feel and am we use an adjective — a describing word — not a verb. I feel wonderful. · I am complete. Try to grow past the word “good”: use wonderful, amazing, peaceful, complete to paint a clearer picture of your energy.

The Clear Mind and the Foggy Mind

清明與霧濛的心

Imagine a glass of water with mud stirred inside it. The water looks brown and foggy (霧濛濛的). You cannot see through it. This is like a busy, worried mind — full of thoughts about tests, games, and worries, all swirling at once.

Now set the glass down and keep it perfectly still. Do not touch it. Slowly, the mud sinks to the bottom, and the water becomes clear. This stillness is Samādhi (定) — the calm focus we practice in meditation. Our 15 minutes of sitting is the time we let the mud settle.

When the mind is clear, a quiet light shines from inside. We point our attention to the Third Eye (第三眼,眉心), the soft spot between the eyebrows, and we feel a warm, bright energy. Then we speak gently to ourselves: “I am enough. I am complete.” A clear mind knows it is already whole.

Check your understanding

  • What makes the water in the glass become clear? 玻璃杯裡的水為什麼會變清澈?
  • Where is the Third Eye, and why do we focus there? 第三眼在哪裡?我們為什麼專注在那裡?
  • What does it mean to say “I am complete”? 說「我是圓滿的」是什麼意思?

The Principle: Concentration & Energy

正定與正能量 · Samādhi

As we grow older, we can sit a little longer. A longer meditation builds Vīrya (energy and will) and a deeper Samādhi (concentration). Together they turn a foggy mind into a clear, bright one.

Your Energy Is Your Light 你的能量就是你的光

When you meditate, you clear away the fog so your light can shine bright. A “foggy brain” feels confused and tired; a “clear mind” feels calm, focused, and full of positive energy. By repeating affirmations like “I am enough, I am complete, I am loved,” you are not pretending — you are recognizing your own Buddha-nature, the goodness already complete inside you. Remember: you are enough, you are complete, and you are loved.
