The teaching in one sentence
The seven awakening factors — mindfulness, investigation of principles, energy, rapture, tranquility, immersion, and equanimity — when developed and cultivated, fulfill three knowledges: recollection of past lives, clairvoyant insight into how beings pass on according to their deeds, and the ending of defilements.
The three knowledges as the last three of six
The three knowledges named here are not a new set: they are the final three of the six higher knowledges already given in full at AN 10.97, traditionally singled out on their own as the tevijjā, the “threefold true knowledge,” the specific triad said to have arisen in the Buddha's own night of awakening.
A structural echo of AN 10.101
This discourse mirrors its immediate predecessor's logical shape exactly: a smaller set of qualities (three perceptions, seven awakening factors) is shown to fulfill a larger or higher set of results (seven practical qualities, three profound knowledges) — the same fulfillment structure, applied to a much more advanced stage of practice.
Named factors, not merely counted
Unlike many ten-item lists in this project that simply enumerate their content, this discourse names all seven awakening factors individually by name before moving to their fulfillment — mindfulness, investigation, energy, rapture, tranquility, immersion, and equanimity — giving the full classical roster rather than a bare count.

Three knowledges fulfilled
§2What three? It’s when a mendicant recollects their many kinds of past lives. That is: one, two, three, four, five, ten, twenty, thirty, forty, fifty, a hundred, a thousand, a hundred thousand rebirths; many eons of the world contracting, many eons of the world expanding, many eons of the world contracting and expanding. They recollect their many kinds of past lives, with features and details. With clairvoyance that is purified and surpasses the human, they understand how sentient beings pass on according to their deeds. They realize the undefiled freedom of heart and freedom by wisdom in this very life, and live having realized it with their own insight due to the ending of defilements. When those seven awakening factors are developed and cultivated they fulfill these three knowledges.”
