Khuddakapatha

Basic Passages

The Khuddakapatha ("Basic Passages") is the shortest and, in the traditional ordering, the first collection of the Khuddaka Nikāya, the fifth and most miscellaneous of the five Nikāyas. It gathers nine short texts: the three refuges, the ten precepts, a list of the body's thirty-two parts, a children's catechism, and five full verse suttas, including the well-known Maṅgalasutta (on blessings), Ratanasutta (on the three jewels), and Mettāsutta (on loving-kindness).

This collection is complete, all nine texts. Each entry has the same reading guide, full Sujato translation, and self-check quiz as our other series.
