Seven Ramparts of Vajra
Wondrous Light city unfolds in a scale unlike any Good-Wealth has yet entered — seven-layered moats, seven named vajra ramparts, a billion thoroughfares, ten kinds of jeweled towers each covered by its own kind of net, and at its heart a single tower where King Great Light always dwells.
Moats, Ramparts, and Eight Gates
The city's own defenses are named one by one — seven vajra ramparts, each with its own title, surrounding moats filled with lotus flowers of every color, and eight gates opening onto a city ten yojanas across.
見此大城，以金、銀、瑠璃、玻瓈、真珠、硨磲、碼碯七寶所成，七寶深塹，七重圍遶；八功德水盈滿其中，底布金沙，優鉢羅華、波頭摩華、拘物頭華、芬陀利華遍布其上；寶多羅樹七重行列，七種金剛以為其垣各各圍遶，所謂：師子光明金剛垣、無能超勝金剛垣、不可沮壞金剛垣、不可毀缺金剛垣、堅固無礙金剛垣、勝妙網藏金剛垣、離塵清淨金剛垣，悉以無數摩尼妙寶間錯莊嚴，種種眾寶而為埤堄。其城縱廣一十由旬，周迴八方，面開八門，皆以七寶周遍嚴飾，毘瑠璃寶以為其地，種種莊嚴甚可愛樂。
He saw that this great city was formed of the seven treasures — gold, silver, lapis lazuli, crystal, pearl, mother-of-pearl, and agate — with deep moats of the seven treasures surrounding it in seven layers; water of the eight excellent qualities filled them completely, their bottoms spread with golden sand, and utpala, padma, kumuda, and puṇḍarīka flowers covered their surface throughout; jeweled tāla trees stood arrayed in seven rows, and seven kinds of vajra formed ramparts, each surrounding the city in turn, namely: the vajra rampart of a lion's own radiance, the vajra rampart that none can surpass, the vajra rampart that cannot be destroyed, the vajra rampart that cannot be broken or chipped, the vajra rampart firm and unobstructed, the vajra rampart of the treasury of the supreme net, and the vajra rampart pure and free of dust — all of them adorned throughout with countless wondrous maṇi-jewels interlaced, and their battlements formed of every kind of jewel. The city measured ten yojanas in both length and breadth, its circuit facing all eight directions, with eight gates opening on its sides, each entirely adorned throughout with the seven treasures; lapis lazuli formed its ground, adorned in every way, utterly delightful to behold.
Ten Kinds of Towers, and the Treasury of the True Dharma
Within the city's billion thoroughfares stand towers of every treasure, each one crowned with its own distinct kind of jeweled net — until the description settles on a single tower at the city's heart, where King Great Light himself always dwells.
其城之內，十億衢道，一一道間，皆有無量萬億眾生於中止住。有無數閻浮檀金樓閣，毘瑠璃摩尼網羅覆其上；無數銀樓閣，赤真珠摩尼網羅覆其上；無數毘瑠璃樓閣，妙藏摩尼網羅覆其上；無數玻瓈樓閣，無垢藏摩尼王網羅覆其上；無數光照世間摩尼寶樓閣，日藏摩尼王網羅覆其上；無數帝青摩尼寶樓閣，妙光摩尼王網羅覆其上；無數眾生海摩尼王樓閣，焰光明摩尼王網羅覆其上；無數金剛寶樓閣，無能勝幢摩尼王網羅覆其上；無數黑栴檀樓閣，天曼陀羅華網羅覆其上；無數無等香王樓閣，種種華網羅覆其上。其城復有無數摩尼網、無數寶鈴網、無數天香網、無數天華網、無數寶形像網，無數寶衣帳、無數寶蓋帳、無數寶樓閣帳、無數寶華鬘帳之所彌覆，處處建立寶蓋、幢、幡。當此城中，有一樓閣，名：正法藏，阿僧祇寶以為莊嚴，光明赫奕最勝無比，眾生見者心無厭足，彼大光王常處其中。
Within the city there were a billion thoroughfares, and along every single one of them, measureless myriads of koṭis of beings dwelt. There were countless towers of Jambū-river gold, covered above by nets of lapis lazuli maṇi-jewels; countless towers of silver, covered above by nets of red pearl maṇi-jewels; countless towers of lapis lazuli, covered above by nets of wondrous-treasury maṇi-jewels; countless towers of crystal, covered above by nets of stainless-treasury maṇi-kings; countless towers of maṇi-jewels that illuminate the world, covered above by nets of sun-treasury maṇi-kings; countless towers of indranīla maṇi-jewels, covered above by nets of wondrous-light maṇi-kings; countless towers of sea-of-beings maṇi-kings, covered above by nets of blazing-light maṇi-kings; countless towers of vajra-jewels, covered above by nets of unsurpassable-banner maṇi-kings; countless towers of black sandalwood, covered above by nets of heavenly mandārava flowers; and countless towers of the king of incomparable fragrance, covered above by nets of every kind of flower. The city was further covered entirely by countless nets of maṇi-jewels, countless nets of jeweled bells, countless nets of heavenly fragrance, countless nets of heavenly flowers, countless nets of jeweled images, countless canopies of jeweled garments, countless canopies of jeweled parasols, countless canopies of jeweled towers, and countless canopies of jeweled flower-garlands, with jeweled canopies, banners, and pennants raised up everywhere. Within this city there was a single tower named Treasury of the True Dharma, adorned with asaṃkhyeya jewels, its light blazing forth supreme beyond compare, so that any being who saw it never wearied of the sight — and King Great Light always dwelt within it.
名：正法藏 — named Treasury of the True Dharma. After ten distinct kinds of jeweled tower, each with its own kind of net, the description narrows to a single named tower — a signal, before the king himself even appears, that the true subject of this city is not its wealth but its dharma.

This continues chapter thirty-nine, 入法界品, in fascicle sixty-six. Part 1021 brings Good-Wealth to King Great Light himself, seated in the marks of a great being on a lion-throne of wish-fulfilling maṇi lotus, likened in turn to a mountain of gold, the moon, and Brahmā among his own retinue.
