Five Hundred Gates, Before a Word Is Spoken
Good-Wealth's twentieth teacher turns out to be a young girl still living in her parents' house — and before she has said a single word to him, the golden light of her own home touches his body and grants him five hundred samādhi-gates at once.
A Twentieth Teacher — Still a Young Girl
After a housholder healer, an illusion-wielding king, and a great banner of loving-kindness, Good-Wealth's twentieth teacher is announced in the plainest terms of all — a young girl, still living at home under her parents' own protection.
時，善財童子從彼三昧智光明起，漸次遊行，至安住城，周遍推求不動優婆夷今在何所？無量人眾咸告之言：「善男子！不動優婆夷身是童女，在其家內，父母守護，與自親屬無量人眾演說妙法。」善財童子聞是語已，其心歡喜，如見父母，即詣不動優婆夷舍。
At that time, Good-Wealth arose from that light of samādhi-wisdom, and journeying onward by stages, arrived at Secure Abode city, searching everywhere for where the laywoman Immovable might now be found. Measureless people all told him: "Good son, the laywoman Immovable is in fact still a young girl, and she dwells within her own home, guarded by her parents, expounding the wondrous dharma to her own relatives and measureless people." Having heard these words, Good-Wealth's own heart rejoiced, as though he had seen his own parents, and he went at once to the laywoman Immovable's own house.
其心歡喜，如見父母 — his own heart rejoiced, as though he had seen his own parents. Learning that his next teacher is a child under her own parents' protection does not trouble Good-Wealth in the slightest — if anything, the news brings him a joy he compares to seeing his own family, a small but telling sign of how completely this pilgrimage has already reordered his sense of who deserves reverence.
Five Hundred Samādhi-Gates, and a Fragrance Beyond Compare
Good-Wealth has not yet even seen Immovable herself — only the golden light filling her house — and that light alone is enough to grant him five hundred samādhi-gates and soften his own body and mind like an infant only seven days old.
入其宅內，見彼堂宇，金色光明普皆照耀，遇斯光者身意清涼。善財童子光明觸身，即時獲得五百三昧門，所謂：了一切希有相三昧門、入寂靜三昧門、遠離一切世間三昧門、普眼捨得三昧門、如來藏三昧門……得如是等五百三昧門；以此三昧門故，身心柔軟，如七日胎。又聞妙香，非諸天、龍、乾闥婆等人與非人之所能有。
Entering within her dwelling, he saw that its halls were universally illuminated by golden light, and whoever encountered this light felt their body and mind become cool and refreshed. The moment this light touched Good-Wealth's own body, he at once attained five hundred samādhi-gates, namely: the samādhi-gate of understanding every rare mark, the samādhi-gate of entering tranquility, the samādhi-gate of forever leaving behind the entire world, the samādhi-gate of the universal eye's giving and gaining, the samādhi-gate of the tathāgata's own treasury... and so on, attaining five hundred such samādhi-gates as these; and because of these samādhi-gates, his own body and mind became soft and supple, like a fetus of seven days. He also smelled a wondrous fragrance, one that no deva, nāga, gandharva, human, or non-human could ever possess.

This continues chapter thirty-nine, 入法界品, in fascicle sixty-six. Part 1030 finally describes Immovable herself, and the verse of praise Good-Wealth offers her before asking his question.
