Having named five buddhas one at a time, Māyā's account now opens onto a sequence of a different order of magnitude — a hundred and two buddha names in this Part alone, and the list is still nowhere near finished.

Where the last Part named Krakucchanda, Kanakamuni, Kāśyapa, Śākyamuni, and Maitreya one at a time, this one opens onto an ordered sequence that keeps going long past any of their names.

如是次第，有師子佛、法幢佛⋯自在佛 — in this sequence there appeared Lion Buddha, Dharma-Banner Buddha⋯Sovereign Buddha. A hundred and two buddhas are named in this Part alone, three of their names recurring before the count is done — Torch-Bearer, Renowned, and Sovereign each fall to two different buddhas in the sequence — and the list itself gives no sign yet of where it will end.

This continues chapter thirty-nine, 入法界品, in fascicle seventy-six. Part 1244 finishes the list Māyā began here, closing on the tathāgata Rucika and her claim to be mother of every buddha this Fortunate Eon will ever hold.
