Crown Marks Nine Through Sixteen
Eight more marks crown the tathāgata's head, each named and each opening onto its own scene — bodhisattvas seated at the throne of awakening, a lotus as large as Mount Sumeru, an ocean of samādhi manifested within a single thought.
Eight More Clouds
The crown's marks continue in the same pattern — a name, an adornment of specific jewels, and a scene of buddhas or bodhisattvas contained within the light — reaching the sixteenth of thirty-two, exactly halfway through this single body part.
次有大人相，名：圓滿光明雲，上妙瑠璃摩尼王種種寶華以為莊嚴，一切眾寶舒大焰網充滿十方，一切世界一切眾生悉見如來現坐其前，讚歎諸佛及諸菩薩法身功德，令入如來清淨境界，是為九。次有大人相，名：普照一切菩薩行藏光明雲，眾寶妙華以為莊嚴，寶光普照無量世界，寶焰普覆一切國土，十方法界通達無礙，震動佛音宣暢法海，是為十。次有大人相，名：普光照耀雲，毘瑠璃、因陀羅、金剛摩尼寶以為莊嚴，瑠璃寶光色相明徹，普照一切諸世界海，出妙音聲充滿法界，如是皆從諸佛智慧大功德海之所化現，是為十一。次有大人相，名：正覺雲，以雜寶華而為莊嚴，其諸寶華悉放光明，皆有如來坐於道場，充滿一切無邊世界，令諸世界普得清淨，永斷一切妄想分別，是為十二。
"Next there is a mark of a great being named Cloud of Perfectly Complete Light, adorned with the finest vaidūrya maṇi-king jewels and every kind of jeweled flower; every jewel unfurls a great net of flame filling the ten directions, and every sentient being in every world sees the tathāgata appearing seated before them, extolling the merit of the dharma-body of every buddha and every bodhisattva, causing them to enter the tathāgata's pure sphere of experience. This is the ninth. Next there is a mark of a great being named Cloud of Light Universally Illuminating the Treasury of Every Bodhisattva's Practice, adorned with every manner of jeweled, wondrous flower; its jeweled light universally illuminates measureless worlds, its jeweled flame universally covers every land, penetrating without obstruction the dharma-realm of the ten directions, resounding with the buddha's voice, proclaiming the ocean of dharma far and wide. This is the tenth. Next there is a mark of a great being named Cloud of Universal Light Shining Brightly, adorned with vaidūrya, indra, and vajra maṇi jewels; the vaidūrya jewel's light and color are clear and translucent, universally illuminating every ocean of worlds, emitting a wondrous sound that fills the dharma-realm — all of this manifested through transformation from the great ocean of merit of every buddha's wisdom. This is the eleventh. Next there is a mark of a great being named Cloud of Perfect Enlightenment, adorned with every manner of mingled jeweled flower; every one of those jeweled flowers emits light, and within each there is a tathāgata seated at the seat of awakening, filling every boundless world, causing every world to universally attain purity, forever cutting off every false imagining and discrimination. This is the twelfth.
次有大人相，名：光明照曜雲，以寶焰藏海心王摩尼而為莊嚴，放大光明，光中顯現無量菩薩及諸菩薩所行之行，一切如來智身、法身、諸色相海充滿法界，是為十三。次有大人相，名：莊嚴普照雲，以金剛華、毘瑠璃寶而為莊嚴，放大光明，光中有大寶蓮華座，具足莊嚴，彌覆法界，自然演說四菩薩行，其音普遍諸法界海，是為十四。次有大人相，名：現佛三昧海行雲，於一念中示現如來無量莊嚴，普遍莊嚴一切法界不思議世界海，是為十五。次有大人相，名：變化海普照雲，妙寶蓮華如須彌山以為莊嚴，眾寶光明從佛願生，現諸變化無有窮盡，是為十六。
Next there is a mark of a great being named Cloud of Light Shining Brightly, adorned with the sovereign maṇi of the ocean-treasury of jeweled flame, emitting great light within which measureless bodhisattvas and the practices they carry out are manifested, the wisdom-body, dharma-body, and every ocean of forms and colors of every tathāgata filling the dharma-realm. This is the thirteenth. Next there is a mark of a great being named Cloud of Universally Illuminating Adornment, adorned with vajra flowers and vaidūrya jewels, emitting great light within which there is a great jeweled lotus throne, entirely adorned, spreading over the whole dharma-realm, naturally expounding the four bodhisattva practices, its sound universally pervading every ocean of the dharma-realm. This is the fourteenth. Next there is a mark of a great being named Cloud of Manifesting the Ocean of the Buddha's Samādhi Practice, manifesting within a single thought-moment the tathāgata's measureless adornments, universally adorning the inconceivable ocean of worlds throughout the entire dharma-realm. This is the fifteenth. Next there is a mark of a great being named Cloud Universally Illuminating the Ocean of Transformation, adorned with wondrous jeweled lotus flowers as large as Mount Sumeru, the light of every jewel born from the buddha's own vow, manifesting every transformation without end. This is the sixteenth.
於一念中示現如來無量莊嚴 — manifesting within a single thought-moment the tathāgata's measureless adornments. The fifteenth mark is the shortest of the sixteen given here, and the only one without a specific jewel named as its material — as if, for a single mark among thirty-two, the chapter set aside the elaborate materials entirely and let a single thought-moment do the same work unassisted.
