The Lower Body, and the Calves of an Antelope King
The catalogue leaves the hands behind and descends to the lower body — the concealed mark, both buttocks, and both thighs — before arriving at the calves, each likened to the calves of a king among antelopes, a simile drawn from the animal kingdom rather than from jewels or light alone.
Descending to the Buttocks, Thighs, and Calves
Seven marks carry the description from the concealed mark down through the buttocks and thighs to the calves, each pair given in the now-familiar order of right before left.
「如來陰藏有大人相，名：普流出佛音聲雲，一切妙寶以為莊嚴，放摩尼燈華焰光明，其光熾盛，具眾寶色，普照一切虛空法界，其中普現一切諸佛遊行往來處處周遍，是為七十七。如來右臀有大人相，名：寶燈鬘普照雲，諸摩尼寶以為莊嚴，放不思議寶焰光明，彌布十方一切法界，與虛空法界同為一相，而能出生一切諸相，一一相中悉現諸佛自在神變，是為七十八。如來左臀有大人相，名：示現一切法界海光明彌覆虛空雲，猶如蓮華，清淨妙寶以為嚴飾，放光明網遍照十方一切法界，於中普現種種相雲，是為七十九。
"The tathāgata's concealed mark has a mark of a great being named Cloud of Universally Emitting the Buddha's Voice, adorned with every wondrous jewel, emitting the flaming light of a maṇi lamp-flower, that light blazing forth, endowed with every jeweled color, universally illuminating every dharma-realm of empty space, universally manifesting within it every buddha traveling everywhere without end. This is the seventy-seventh. The tathāgata's right buttock has a mark of a great being named Cloud of the Jeweled Lamp Garland Universally Illuminating, adorned with every maṇi jewel, emitting the inconceivable light of a jeweled flame, spreading throughout every dharma-realm of the ten directions, one and the same form as the dharma-realm of empty space, and yet able to give birth to every manner of form, each and every form displaying the sovereign spiritual transformations of every buddha. This is the seventy-eighth. The tathāgata's left buttock has a mark of a great being named Cloud of Manifesting the Light of the Ocean of Every Dharma-Realm Spreading Over Empty Space, like a lotus flower, adorned with pure and wondrous jewels, emitting a net of light that universally illuminates every dharma-realm of the ten directions, universally manifesting within it every manner of cloud of forms. This is the seventy-ninth.
如來右髀有大人相，名：普現雲，以眾色摩尼而為莊嚴，其髀與腨上下相稱，放摩尼焰妙法光明，於一念中能普示現一切寶王遊步相海，是為八十。如來左髀有大人相，名：現一切佛無量相海雲，一切寶海隨順安住以為莊嚴，廣大遊行，放淨光明普照眾生，悉使希求無上佛法，是為八十一。如來右邊伊尼延鹿王腨有大人相，名：一切虛空法界雲，光明妙寶以為莊嚴，其相圓直，善能遊步，放閻浮金色清淨光明，遍照一切諸佛世界，發大音聲普皆震動，復現一切諸佛國土，住於虛空寶焰莊嚴，無量菩薩從中化現，是為八十二。如來左邊伊尼延鹿王腨有大人相，名：莊嚴海雲，色如真金，能遍遊行一切佛剎，放一切寶清淨光明，充滿法界施作佛事，是為八十三。
The tathāgata's right thigh has a mark of a great being named Cloud of Universal Manifestation, adorned with maṇi of every color, its thigh and calf matched in proportion above and below, emitting the wondrous dharma light of a maṇi flame, able within a single thought to universally display the ocean of marks of every jeweled king's gait. This is the eightieth. The tathāgata's left thigh has a mark of a great being named Cloud of Manifesting the Ocean of Measureless Marks of Every Buddha, adorned with an ocean of every jewel dwelling in accord with its nature, traveling vast and far, emitting pure light that universally illuminates sentient beings, causing every one of them to seek the unsurpassed buddha-dharma. This is the eighty-first. The tathāgata's right calf, likened to that of a king among antelopes, has a mark of a great being named Cloud of Every Dharma-Realm of Empty Space, adorned with light and wondrous jewels, its form rounded and straight, well able to walk, emitting the pure light of Jambu-river gold color, illuminating every world of every buddha throughout, giving voice to a great sound that shakes them all, further manifesting every land of every buddha, dwelling adorned with the jeweled flame of empty space, out of which measureless bodhisattvas emerge in transformation. This is the eighty-second. The tathāgata's left calf, likened to that of a king among antelopes, has a mark of a great being named Cloud of the Ocean of Adornment, its color like true gold, able to travel throughout every buddha-land, emitting the pure light of every jewel, filling the dharma-realm and performing the buddha's work. This is the eighty-third.
伊尼延鹿王腨 — the calf likened to that of a king among antelopes. This is the first mark in the entire catalogue to reach for an image from the animal world rather than jewels, light, or the earlier bodily comparisons; the antelope-king's leg, prized in ancient India for its rounded, tapering shape, becomes here a simile for well-formed calves — a small shift in register within an otherwise unbroken idiom of maṇi jewels and radiant clouds.
