The Feet Begin
A single mark on the hair covering the calves closes out the leg; the catalogue then reaches the feet themselves, moving through the soles, the tops, the spaces between the toes, and both heels, each still adorned and named as every mark before it.
From the Calf-Hair to the Feet
One mark on the hair of the calves gives way to the feet: the soles, the tops of both feet, the spaces between the toes, and both heels, eight marks in all.
如來寶腨上毛有大人相，名：普現法界影像雲，其毛右旋，一一毛端放寶光明，充滿十方一切法界，示現一切諸佛神力，其諸毛孔悉放光明，一切佛剎於中顯現，是為八十四。「如來足下有大人相，名：一切菩薩海安住雲，色如金剛、閻浮檀金清淨蓮華，放寶光明，普照十方諸世界海，寶香焰雲處處周遍，舉足將步，香氣周流，具眾寶色充滿法界，是為八十五。
The hair upon the tathāgata's jeweled calves has a mark of a great being named Cloud of Universally Manifesting the Reflection of the Dharma-Realm, its hair coiling to the right, each and every hair-tip emitting jeweled light, filling every dharma-realm of the ten directions, manifesting the spiritual power of every buddha, every pore likewise emitting light, every buddha-land displayed within it. This is the eighty-fourth. "The sole of the tathāgata's foot has a mark of a great being named Cloud of the Ocean of Every Bodhisattva Dwelling Securely, its color like vajra and pure lotus flowers of Jambu-river gold, emitting jeweled light that universally illuminates the ocean of every world of the ten directions, a cloud of jeweled, fragrant flame reaching everywhere; wherever the foot is raised to take a step, its fragrance spreads throughout, endowed with every jeweled color, filling the dharma-realm. This is the eighty-fifth.
如來右足上有大人相，名：普照一切光明雲，一切眾寶以為莊嚴，放大光明充滿法界，示現一切諸佛菩薩，是為八十六。如來左足上有大人相，名：普現一切諸佛雲，寶藏摩尼以為莊嚴，放寶光明，於念念中現一切佛神通變化，及其法海所坐道場，盡未來際劫無有間斷，是為八十七。如來右足指間有大人相，名：光照一切法界海雲，須彌燈摩尼王千輻焰輪種種莊嚴，放大光明充滿十方一切法界諸世界海，於中普現一切諸佛所有種種寶莊嚴相，是為八十八。如來左足指間有大人相，名：現一切佛海雲，摩尼寶華、香焰、燈鬘、一切寶輪以為莊嚴，恒放寶海清淨光明，充滿虛空，普及十方一切世界，於中示現一切諸佛及諸菩薩圓滿音聲、卐字等相，利益無量一切眾生，是為八十九。
The top of the tathāgata's right foot has a mark of a great being named Cloud of Universally Illuminating Every Light, adorned with every jewel, emitting great light that fills the dharma-realm, displaying every buddha and bodhisattva. This is the eighty-sixth. The top of the tathāgata's left foot has a mark of a great being named Cloud of Universally Manifesting Every Buddha, adorned with maṇi from a treasury of jewels, emitting jeweled light, manifesting in thought after thought the spiritual transformations of every buddha, and the seats of awakening upon which they sit amid the ocean of dharma, without interruption to the farthest bounds of future kalpas. This is the eighty-seventh. Between the toes of the tathāgata's right foot there is a mark of a great being named Cloud of the Light Illuminating the Ocean of Every Dharma-Realm, adorned in every manner with the thousand-spoked wheel of flame of a Sumeru-lamp maṇi king, emitting great light that fills every ocean of worlds in every dharma-realm of the ten directions, universally manifesting within it every manner of jeweled adornment possessed by every buddha. This is the eighty-eighth. Between the toes of the tathāgata's left foot there is a mark of a great being named Cloud of Manifesting the Ocean of Every Buddha, adorned with maṇi jeweled flowers, fragrant flames, lamp garlands, and every jeweled wheel, constantly emitting the pure light of an ocean of jewels, filling empty space, reaching every world of the ten directions, displaying within it the perfect voice and svastika marks of every buddha and bodhisattva, benefiting measureless sentient beings. This is the eighty-ninth.
如來右足跟有大人相，名：自在照耀雲，帝青、寶末以為莊嚴，常放如來妙寶光明，其光妙好充滿法界，皆同一相無有差別，於中示現一切諸佛坐於道場演說妙法，是為九十。如來左足跟有大人相，名：示現妙音演說諸法海雲，以變化海摩尼寶、香焰海須彌華摩尼寶及毘瑠璃而為莊嚴，放大光明充滿法界，於中普現諸佛神力，是為九十一。
The tathāgata's right heel has a mark of a great being named Cloud of Shining Brightly with Mastery, adorned with sapphire and jeweled powder, constantly emitting the tathāgata's wondrous jeweled light, that light wondrous and fine, filling the dharma-realm, all of a single form without distinction, displaying within it every buddha seated at the seat of awakening, expounding the wondrous dharma. This is the ninetieth. The tathāgata's left heel has a mark of a great being named Cloud of Manifesting the Wondrous Sound Expounding the Ocean of Every Dharma, adorned with a transformation-ocean maṇi jewel, a fragrant-flame-ocean Sumeru-flower maṇi jewel, and vaidūrya, emitting great light that fills the dharma-realm, universally manifesting within it the spiritual power of every buddha. This is the ninety-first.
舉足將步，香氣周流 — wherever the foot is raised to take a step, its fragrance spreads throughout. The mark on the sole of the foot is described not merely as radiant or jeweled but as active: fragrance follows the tathāgata's walking itself, tying this mark to motion rather than to a fixed, static feature of the body, in the same register as the earlier smile-triggered mark on the tongue.
