Ten Kinds of Sovereign Freedom, Fascicle 55 Complete

Sovereign Over Lifespan, Mind, and Awakening Itself
The list that closes fascicle fifty-five names ten domains of sovereign freedom in ascending order of scale — a lifespan that lasts unspeakable kalpas, a mind that enters countless samādhis, resources adorning every world — before its final entry compresses the entire path into a single thought: manifesting the tathāgata's own ten powers and fearlessnesses, and attaining right awakening, again and again, in thought after thought.
佛子！菩薩摩訶薩有十種自在。何等為十？所謂：命自在，於不可說劫住壽命故；心自在，智慧能入阿僧祇諸三昧故；資具自在，能以無量莊嚴莊嚴一切世界故；業自在，隨時受報故；受生自在，於一切世界示現受生故；解自在，於一切世界見佛充滿故；願自在，隨欲隨時於諸剎中成正覺故；神力自在，示現一切大神變故；法自在，示現無邊諸法門故；智自在，於念念中示現如來十力、無畏、成正覺故。是為十。若諸菩薩安住此法，則得圓滿一切諸佛諸波羅蜜智慧神力菩提自在。
"Son of the Buddha! A bodhisattva-mahāsattva has ten kinds of sovereign freedom. What are these ten? Namely: sovereign freedom over lifespan, because they abide in life for unspeakably many kalpas; sovereign freedom over mind, because their wisdom is able to enter asaṃkhyeya samādhis; sovereign freedom over resources, because they are able to adorn every world with measureless adornments; sovereign freedom over karma, because they receive its fruit at whatever time is fitting; sovereign freedom over birth, because they manifest being born in every world; sovereign freedom over understanding, because they see every world filled with buddhas; sovereign freedom over vows, because they attain right awakening in whatever land, at whatever time, exactly as they wish; sovereign freedom over spiritual power, because they manifest every kind of great spiritual transformation; sovereign freedom over dharma, because they manifest boundless dharma-gates; and sovereign freedom over wisdom, because within thought after thought they manifest the tathāgata's own ten powers and fearlessnesses, and attain right awakening. These are the ten. If bodhisattvas abide within this dharma, they attain the complete fulfillment of sovereign freedom over every pāramitā, wisdom, spiritual power, and awakening of every buddha.
智自在，於念念中示現如來十力、無畏、成正覺故 — sovereign freedom over wisdom, because within thought after thought they manifest the tathāgata's own ten powers and fearlessnesses, and attain right awakening. The tenth and final freedom collapses the entire span the previous nine freedoms cover — kalpas of lifespan, countless samādhis, boundless dharma-gates — into the space of a single thought, repeated endlessly rather than extended once.

This completes fascicle fifty-five of the eighty-fascicle Avataṃsaka Sūtra. Chapter thirty-eight, 離世間品, continues without interruption into fascicle fifty-six. Part 729 opens ten kinds of unobstructed function, beginning with unobstructed function toward sentient beings themselves.
