Ten Events Descending from Tuṣita Begin
Each of these ten events is announced by a light emitted from a different part of the body — the soles of the feet, the white curl between the eyebrows, the right palm, both knees, the diamond-adorned heart marked with the svastika sign — each light named, each reaching a different audience: suffering beings, fellow bodhisattvas, solitary awakened ones, every deva palace, and every diamond-wielding warrior of the ten directions.
A Light That Lets Some Go
The third event carries a striking side effect: any solitary awakened one who has already attained freedom from outflows and becomes aware of the light emitted from the bodhisattva's right palm thereupon relinquishes their own lifespan, while every māra, follower of another path, and being still holding views is quietly moved elsewhere — the descent clearing its own stage before it begins.
佛子！菩薩摩訶薩於兜率天將下生時，現十種事。何等為十？佛子！菩薩摩訶薩於兜率天下生之時，從於足下放大光明，名：安樂莊嚴，普照三千大千世界一切惡趣諸難眾生；觸斯光者，莫不皆得離苦安樂；得安樂已，悉知將有奇特大人出興于世。是為第一所示現事。佛子！菩薩摩訶薩於兜率天下生之時，從於眉間白毫相中放大光明，名曰：覺悟，普照三千大千世界，照彼宿世一切同行諸菩薩身；彼諸菩薩蒙光照已，咸知菩薩將欲下生，各各出興無量供具，詣菩薩所而為供養。是為第二所示現事。
"Son of the Buddha! When a bodhisattva-mahāsattva is about to descend and take birth from Tuṣita heaven, ten events are manifested. What are these ten? Son of the Buddha! When a bodhisattva-mahāsattva descends and takes birth from Tuṣita heaven, from the soles of the feet a great light is emitted, named Adornment of Peace and Joy, universally illuminating every sentient being in every evil destiny and every place of difficulty throughout a great trichiliocosm; there is no one touched by this light who does not attain freedom from suffering and peaceful joy; and having attained that peaceful joy, they all know that an extraordinary great being is about to appear in the world. This is the first manifested event. Son of the Buddha! When a bodhisattva-mahāsattva descends and takes birth from Tuṣita heaven, from the mark of the white curl between the eyebrows a great light is emitted, named Awakening, universally illuminating a great trichiliocosm, illuminating the bodies of every bodhisattva who has practiced together with them since ages past; those bodhisattvas, touched by that light, all know that the bodhisattva is about to descend and take birth, and each of them brings forth measureless offerings, going to the bodhisattva's place to make offerings. This is the second manifested event.
佛子！菩薩摩訶薩於兜率天將下生時，於右掌中放大光明，名：清淨境界，悉能嚴淨一切三千大千世界，其中若有已得無漏諸辟支佛覺斯光者，即捨壽命；若不覺者，光明力故，徙置他方餘世界中；一切諸魔及諸外道、有見眾生，皆亦徙置他方世界，唯除諸佛神力所持應化眾生。是為第三所示現事。佛子！菩薩摩訶薩於兜率天將下生時，從其兩膝放大光明，名：清淨莊嚴，普照一切諸天宮殿，下從護世，上至淨居，靡不周遍；彼諸天等，咸知菩薩於兜率天將欲下生，俱懷戀慕，悲歎憂惱，各持種種華鬘、衣服、塗香、末香、幡蓋、妓樂，詣菩薩所恭敬供養，隨逐下生乃至涅槃。是為第四所示現事。佛子！菩薩摩訶薩在兜率天將下生時，於卍字金剛莊嚴心藏中放大光明，名：無能勝幢，普照十方一切世界金剛力士；時，有百億金剛力士皆悉來集，隨逐侍衛，始於下生，乃至涅槃。是為第五所示現事。
Son of the Buddha! When a bodhisattva-mahāsattva is about to descend and take birth from Tuṣita heaven, from the right palm a great light is emitted, named Pure Domain, entirely able to adorn and purify every great trichiliocosm; among those within it, any solitary awakened one who has already attained freedom from outflows and who becomes aware of this light thereupon relinquishes their own lifespan; for those who are not aware of it, through the power of the light they are moved to another world elsewhere; every māra, every follower of another path, and every sentient being still holding a view are likewise moved to another world elsewhere, except only those beings to be transformed who are upheld by the spiritual power of the buddhas. This is the third manifested event. Son of the Buddha! When a bodhisattva-mahāsattva is about to descend and take birth from Tuṣita heaven, from both knees a great light is emitted, named Pure Adornment, universally illuminating every deva palace, below from the guardians of the world, above to the pure abodes, leaving nothing unreached; every one of those devas, knowing that the bodhisattva is about to descend and take birth from Tuṣita heaven, is filled with longing and attachment, sighing with grief and sorrow, and each brings every kind of flower garland, clothing, fragrant unguent, powdered incense, banner and canopy, and music, going to the bodhisattva's place to revere and make offerings, following the bodhisattva from the descent to birth all the way to nirvāṇa. This is the fourth manifested event. Son of the Buddha! When a bodhisattva-mahāsattva is about to descend and take birth while in Tuṣita heaven, from the diamond-adorned heart-treasury marked with the svastika sign a great light is emitted, named Banner of the Unsurpassable, universally illuminating every diamond-wielding warrior throughout every world of the ten directions; at that time, a hundred koṭis of diamond-wielding warriors all come together, following and guarding the bodhisattva, from the very beginning of the descent to birth all the way to nirvāṇa. This is the fifth manifested event.
已得無漏諸辟支佛覺斯光者，即捨壽命 — any solitary awakened one who has already attained freedom from outflows and who becomes aware of this light thereupon relinquishes their own lifespan. Unlike every other audience in this list, who respond to the light with joy, offerings, or longing, the solitary awakened ones who perceive it respond by ending their own lives — their liberation already complete, with nothing left for the coming buddha's era to ask of them.

Part 792 completes the ten events descending from Tuṣita and, with them, fascicle fifty-eight — moving from a light that summons fellow bodhisattvas down to Jambudvīpa to the tenth event, a light that shows onlookers the bodhisattva's entire life at once, from Tuṣita to parinirvāṇa.
