The Jeta Grove Itself Transforms
The transformation does not stop at the pavilion. The Jeta Grove that surrounds it grows vast beyond measure as well, filled with fragrant rivers that sing the dharma of their own accord, jeweled trees and terraces along their banks, and fifteen kinds of jeweled banner raised throughout the ten directions — while above it all, unspeakably many clouds of heavenly ornament fill the sky.
Rivers That Sing the Dharma of Their Own Accord
Once the great pavilion has grown vast, the Buddha's spiritual power reaches out to the grove around it as well, remaking its ground, its walls, and its waterways — and the jeweled flowers carried on those waterways do not merely float there, but themselves give forth the sound of the buddha-dharma as they turn.
爾時，復以佛神力故，其逝多林忽然廣博，與不可說佛剎微塵數諸佛國土其量正等。一切妙寶間錯莊嚴，不可說寶遍布其地，阿僧祇寶以為垣牆，寶多羅樹莊嚴道側。其間復有無量香河，香水盈滿，湍激洄澓；一切寶華隨流右轉，自然演出佛法音聲；不思議寶芬陀利華，菡萏芬敷，彌布水上；眾寶華樹列植其岸；種種臺榭不可思議，皆於岸上次第行列，摩尼寶網之所彌覆。
At that time, again through the Buddha's own spiritual power, this Jeta Grove suddenly grew vast, equal in measure to unspeakably many buddha-lands as numerous as fine motes of dust. It was adorned throughout with every kind of wondrous jewel interspersed together, unspeakably many jewels spread over its ground, incalculable jewels forming its enclosing walls, and jeweled tāla trees adorning the sides of its paths. Within it there were also measureless fragrant rivers, brimming full of fragrant water, rushing and swirling in eddies; every jeweled flower turned to the right as it followed the current, giving forth of itself the sound of the buddha-dharma; inconceivable jeweled white lotuses, their buds opening in fragrant bloom, spread out over the water's surface; rows of jeweled flowering trees were planted along the banks; every kind of inconceivable terrace and pavilion stood arranged in sequence along those banks, all covered over by nets of maṇi gems.
阿僧祇寶放大光明，阿僧祇寶莊嚴其地。燒眾妙香，香氣氛氳。復建無量種種寶幢，所謂：寶香幢、寶衣幢、寶幡幢、寶繒幢、寶華幢、寶瓔珞幢、寶鬘幢、寶鈴幢、摩尼寶蓋幢、大摩尼寶幢、光明遍照摩尼寶幢、出一切如來名號音聲摩尼王幢、師子摩尼王幢、說一切如來本事海摩尼王幢、現一切法界影像摩尼王幢，周遍十方，行列莊嚴。時，逝多林上虛空之中，有不思議天宮殿雲、無數香樹雲、不可說須彌山雲、不可說妓樂雲、出美妙音歌讚如來不可說寶蓮華雲、不可說寶座雲、敷以天衣菩薩坐上歎佛功德不可說諸天王形像摩尼寶雲、不可說白真珠雲、不可說赤珠樓閣莊嚴具雲、不可說雨金剛堅固珠雲，皆住虛空，周匝遍滿，以為嚴飾。
Incalculable jewels emitted great light, and incalculable jewels adorned the ground. Every kind of wondrous incense was burning, its fragrance rich and billowing. Measureless kinds of jeweled banners were also raised there, namely: fragrant-jewel banners, robe-jewel banners, pennant-jewel banners, silk-jewel banners, flower-jewel banners, necklace-jewel banners, garland-jewel banners, bell-jewel banners, maṇi-jewel canopy banners, great maṇi-jewel banners, maṇi-jewel banners whose light universally illuminates, maṇi-king banners giving forth the sound of every tathāgata's own name, lion maṇi-king banners, maṇi-king banners proclaiming the ocean of every tathāgata's own past deeds, and maṇi-king banners manifesting the reflected images of the entire dharma-realm — pervading the ten directions, arrayed in rows as ornament. At that time, in the empty space above the Jeta Grove, there appeared inconceivable clouds of heavenly palaces, clouds of countless fragrant trees, unspeakably many clouds shaped like Mount Sumeru, unspeakably many clouds of music, unspeakably many clouds of jeweled lotus flowers giving forth wondrous sounds in praise of the tathāgata, unspeakably many clouds of jeweled thrones spread with heavenly garments on which bodhisattvas sat praising the Buddha's own merit, unspeakably many clouds of maṇi gems shaped like every deva-king, unspeakably many clouds of white pearls, unspeakably many clouds of ornaments for red-pearl pavilions, and unspeakably many clouds raining down vajra-hard gems — all of them abiding in empty space, encircling and filling it everywhere, as further ornamentation.
現一切法界影像摩尼王幢 — a maṇi-king banner manifesting the reflected images of the entire dharma-realm. Set at the very end of the fifteen-banner list, this final banner does not merely decorate the grove; it contains, within a single object, a reflection of everything else — a small preview of the sūtra's larger teaching that the whole of reality can appear complete within any one of its own parts.

This continues chapter thirty-nine, 入法界品, in fascicle sixty. Part 836 turns to the ten reasons the sūtra itself gives for why every part of this transformation is inconceivable — each one rooted in a specific, named power of the tathāgata.
