Verses from the Northeast
The fifth bodhisattva, Manifesting-the-Dharma-Realm Vow-Moon King, arriving from the northeast, is the first in this sequence of verses to name Śākyamuni directly, and opens with the sapphire jewel of Indra — a stone said to tint blue everything it touches, exactly as seeing the Buddha is said to awaken every mind it touches.
Within Every Single Mote of Dust
The second stanza returns to a claim this fascicle made explicit several times already — that the Buddha manifests his own spiritual power within a single mote of dust — and applies it here specifically to the purifying of measureless, boundless bodhisattvas at once.
爾時，化現法界願月王菩薩，承佛神力，觀察十方而說頌言：
譬如帝青寶，
能青一切色；
見佛者亦然，
悉發菩提行。
一一微塵內，
佛現神通力，
令無量無邊，
菩薩皆清淨。
甚深微妙力，
無邊不可知；
菩薩之境界，
世間莫能測。
如來所現身，
清淨相莊嚴，
普入於法界，
成就諸菩薩。
難思佛國土，
於中成正覺；
一切諸菩薩，
世主皆充滿。
釋迦無上尊，
於法悉自在，
示現神通力，
無邊不可量。
菩薩種種行，
無量無有盡；
如來自在力，
為之悉示現。
佛子善修學，
甚深諸法界，
成就無礙智，
明了一切法。
善逝威神力，
為眾轉法輪，
神變普充滿，
令世皆清淨。
如來智圓滿，
境界亦清淨；
譬如大龍王，
普濟諸群生。
At that time, Manifesting-the-Dharma-Realm Vow-Moon King Bodhisattva, sustained by the Buddha's own spiritual power, surveyed the ten directions and spoke these verses:
It is like the sapphire jewel of Indra, able to tint every color blue; it is exactly the same for anyone who sees the Buddha — they all give rise to the practice of awakening.
Within every single mote of dust, the Buddha manifests his own spiritual superknowledge, causing measureless, boundless bodhisattvas to all become pure.
This profound, subtle power is boundless and unknowable; the domain of the bodhisattvas, no world is able to fathom.
The body the tathāgata manifests is adorned with pure marks, universally entering the dharma-realm, bringing every bodhisattva to accomplishment.
Within an inconceivable buddha-land, perfect awakening is attained there, and every bodhisattva and every ruler of the world fills it completely.
Śākyamuni, the unsurpassed, honored one, is sovereign and free with regard to every dharma, manifesting spiritual superknowledge that is boundless and beyond measure.
The bodhisattvas' every kind of practice is measureless and without end; the tathāgata's own sovereign power manifests every one of them in full.
The buddha's children skillfully cultivate and study the profound dharma-realm, accomplishing unobstructed wisdom, and clearly understanding every dharma.
The Well-Gone One's own awesome, spiritual power turns the wheel of dharma for the sake of the assembly, his spiritual transformations universally filling everything, causing the whole world to become pure.
The tathāgata's own wisdom is fully perfected, and his own domain is likewise pure; it is like a great nāga king, universally rescuing every living being.
釋迦無上尊 — Śākyamuni, the unsurpassed, honored one. Amid nine stanzas that speak only of "the tathāgata" or "the Buddha," this sixth stanza names him directly by name — a small but pointed reminder that everything this fascicle has described, however cosmic in scale, is happening to and through one particular teacher, in one particular grove.
Part 861 Complete
This continues chapter thirty-nine, 入法界品, in fascicle sixty. Part 862 turns to the sixth bodhisattva, Dharma-Wisdom Blazing-Light King, arriving from the southeast, who declares that not even the buddhas and śrāvakas of the three times can know the Buddha's own smallest movements.
