What the Bodhisattvas Enter Into
Having seen the vision, the bodhisattvas do not merely witness it from outside; the sūtra names ten distinct things they enter into directly — the tathāgata's own dharma-body and form-body, his perfected pāramitās, and the ocean of his own unobstructed eloquence — through gateways too numerous to number.
From Seeing to Entering
Ten distinct entry points are named here, moving from the tathāgata's own two bodies through his perfected practice, his powers, and finally his own unobstructed eloquence — each bodhisattva finding a different point of entry into the very thing that was, moments ago, only something to behold.
是故皆得入於如來不可思議甚深三昧，盡法界、虛空界大神通力：或入法身，或入色身，或入往昔所成就行，或入圓滿諸波羅蜜，或入莊嚴清淨行輪，或入菩薩諸地，或入成正覺力，或入佛所住三昧無差別大神變，或入如來力、無畏智，或入佛無礙辯才海。彼諸菩薩以種種解、種種道、種種門、種種入、種種理趣、種種隨順、種種智慧、種種助道、種種方便、種種三昧，入如是等十不可說佛剎微塵數佛神變海方便門。
For this reason, they are all able to enter into the tathāgata's own inconceivable, profound samādhi, and the great spiritual superknowledge that pervades the entire dharma-realm and realm of empty space: some enter the dharma-body, some enter the form-body, some enter the practices accomplished in ages past, some enter the pāramitās brought to perfection, some enter the wheel of pure, adorned practice, some enter every bodhisattva ground, some enter the power of attaining perfect awakening, some enter the great spiritual transformation, without any difference, of the samādhi in which the buddha abides, some enter the tathāgata's own powers and fearless wisdom, and some enter the ocean of the buddha's own unobstructed eloquence. These bodhisattvas, through every kind of understanding, every kind of path, every kind of gateway, every kind of entry, every kind of guiding principle, every kind of accordance, every kind of wisdom, every kind of aid to the path, every kind of skillful means, and every kind of samādhi, enter into these very skillful gateways of the ocean of a buddha's own spiritual transformation, ten times as many as unspeakably many motes of dust in every buddha-land.
入如是等十不可說佛剎微塵數佛神變海方便門 — enter into these very skillful gateways, ten times as many as unspeakably many motes of dust in every buddha-land. Even a quantity already beyond expression gets multiplied further here — not to make the number more precise, but to signal that the ten entry points just listed are themselves only a sample, a first grouping within something the sūtra has no intention of ever fully counting.
