An Entire Sūtra Within a Single Word
This long description of the bodhisattvas' own qualities closes with two of its boldest claims yet: within a single phrase, the entire ocean of every sūtra is expounded in full, and within every single mote of dust, perfect awakening is manifested completely.
Every Sūtra, Within a Single Phrase
This passage's very first claim sets the tone for everything that follows it: within a single phrase, these bodhisattvas expound the entire ocean of every sūtra — not a summary of that ocean, but the ocean itself, complete, contained in something as small as one phrase.
決了佛地甚深之趣，以無盡句說甚深義，於一句中演說一切修多羅海；獲大智慧陀羅尼身，凡所受持永無忘失；一念能憶無量劫事，一念悉知三世一切諸眾生智；恒以一切陀羅尼門，演說無邊諸佛法海，常轉不退清淨法輪，令諸眾生皆生智慧；得佛境界智慧光明，入於善見甚深三昧；入一切法無障礙際，於一切法勝智自在，一切境界清淨莊嚴；普入十方一切法界，隨其方所靡不咸至；一一塵中現成正覺，於無色性現一切色，以一切方普入一方。
They have decisively fathomed the profound tendency of the buddha's own ground, proclaiming profound meaning through inexhaustible phrases, and within a single phrase expounding the entire ocean of every sūtra; they have attained a body of great wisdom and dhāraṇī, so that whatever they hold and retain is never forgotten; in a single thought they are able to remember the events of measureless kalpas, and in a single thought they fully know the wisdom of every sentient being across the three times. They constantly proclaim the boundless ocean of dharma of every buddha through every dhāraṇī-gateway, constantly turning the pure wheel of dharma without ever retreating, causing every sentient being to give rise to wisdom; they have attained the light of wisdom belonging to the buddha's own domain, entering into the profound samādhi of Good Sight; they enter the unobstructed limit of every dharma, possessing sovereign, superior wisdom with regard to every dharma, every domain purely adorned; they universally enter the entire dharma-realm in the ten directions, arriving at every single place without exception; within every single mote of dust they manifest the attainment of perfect awakening, manifesting every kind of form out of a nature without any form at all, and universally entering a single direction through every direction.
於一句中演說一切修多羅海 — within a single phrase, expounding the entire ocean of every sūtra. This claim applies to the bodhisattvas exactly what this fascicle has already applied to a single mote of dust and a single pore: that the smallest possible unit can hold, without loss or compression, the whole of what would otherwise seem to require infinite space to contain.

This continues chapter thirty-nine, 入法界品, in fascicle sixty-one. Part 880 closes this entire description of the bodhisattvas, stating that their treasury of merit and wisdom is praised by every buddha yet can never be exhausted by any words at all.
