Good-Wealth's Own Reflection on the Road South
Walking south toward Iṣāna, Good-Wealth carries the light of Bhīṣmottaranirghoṣa's own liberation with him — an unbroken cascade of wisdom-lights, boundless understanding of worlds and beings, and a mind that keeps returning to thoughts of his good spiritual friend, until the village itself finally comes into view.
An Unbroken Cascade of Wisdom-Lights
Illuminated still by the liberation just demonstrated, Good-Wealth abides in inconceivable spiritual power, attains wisdom-light after wisdom-light, and manifests his own body everywhere, teaching a dharma that is non-dual and without any discrimination at all.
爾時，善財童子為菩薩無勝幢解脫所照故，住諸佛不思議神力，證菩薩不思議解脫神通智，得菩薩不思議三昧智光明，得一切時熏修三昧智光明，得了知一切境界皆依想所住三昧智光明，得一切世間殊勝智光明；於一切處悉現其身，以究竟智說無二無分別平等法，以明淨智普照境界；凡所聞法皆能忍受，清淨信解，於法自性決定明了；心恒不捨菩薩妙行，求一切智永無退轉，獲得十力智慧光明，勤求妙法常無厭足，以正修行入佛境界，出生菩薩無量莊嚴，無邊大願悉已清淨；
At that time, because the boy Good-Wealth had been illuminated by the bodhisattva liberation Unsurpassed Banner, he abided in the inconceivable spiritual power of every buddha; he realized the inconceivable spiritual wisdom of the bodhisattva's own liberation; he attained the inconceivable samādhi-wisdom-light of the bodhisattva; he attained the samādhi-wisdom-light of cultivating at every moment; he attained the samādhi-wisdom-light of clearly understanding that every domain abides only through conception; and he attained the supreme wisdom-light of every world. He manifested his own body in every place; with ultimate wisdom, he spoke the non-dual, non-discriminating, equal dharma; with bright, pure wisdom, he universally illuminated every domain; whatever dharma he heard, he was entirely able to receive and bear it, with pure faith and understanding, and was decisively and clearly certain of the true nature of every dharma; his mind constantly never abandoned the bodhisattva's own wondrous practice, seeking omniscience with never any regression; he attained the wisdom-light of the ten powers, diligently seeking the wondrous dharma, forever without weariness or satiation; through right practice, he entered the buddha's own domain, brought forth the bodhisattva's own measureless adornment, and his own boundless great vows had all already become pure.
Boundless Worlds, Boundless Beings, Thoughts of a Friend
The reflection widens outward from Good-Wealth's own attainment to what he now understands about worlds and beings without limit — their names, their languages, their maturing conduct — before narrowing back to a single simple thought: his good spiritual friend, as the road itself finally brings him to Iṣāna.
以無窮盡智知無邊世界網，以無怯弱心度無量眾生海；了無邊菩薩諸行境界，見無邊世界種種差別，見無邊世界種種莊嚴，入無邊世界微細境界，知無邊世界種種名號，知無邊世界種種言說，知無邊眾生種種解，見無邊眾生種種行，見無邊眾生成熟行，見無邊眾生差別想；念善知識。漸次遊行，至伊沙那聚落，
With inexhaustible wisdom, he knew the net of boundless worlds; with a fearless mind, he crossed over the ocean of measureless beings; he understood the domain of every boundless bodhisattva practice, saw the various distinctions of boundless worlds, saw the various adornments of boundless worlds, entered the subtle domain of boundless worlds, knew the various names of boundless worlds, knew the various languages of boundless worlds, knew the various understandings of boundless beings, saw the various conduct of boundless beings, saw the maturing conduct of boundless beings, and saw the various distinct thoughts of boundless beings — and he thought of his good spiritual friend. Gradually journeying on, he arrived at the village of Iṣāna,
念善知識 — and he thought of his good spiritual friend. After eleven consecutive clauses of boundless knowing and seeing, each one reaching toward every world and every being without limit, the passage ends this entire cascade on the smallest and most personal thought possible — not a doctrine, but a person.

This continues chapter thirty-nine, 入法界品, in fascicle sixty-four. Part 965 turns to what Good-Wealth actually finds at Iṣāna — the brahmin Fierce-Heat, seated between a mountain of fire and a mountain of knife-blades, practicing an austerity more extreme than anything this pilgrimage has yet shown.
