The Bhadrakalpa buddha-list continues, thirty more names from Vajra-Mountain Buddha through Valiantly-Advancing-and-Upholding Buddha — among them Upatiṣya Buddha, sharing a name with Śāriputra.

Upatiṣya (優波提舍) is, elsewhere in the canon, Śāriputra's own given name before his ordination — here it names one of the Bhadrakalpa's buddhas instead, a coincidence the text itself does not remark on. Whether this reuse is deliberate or simply the natural result of a finite stock of auspicious Sanskrit names being drawn on twice across an enormous canon, it is left untranslated here as a proper name rather than glossed, in keeping with this collection's practice for names it cannot verify against any known biography.
