Buddha-Bodies Filling a Single Pore
Sudhana's own wisdom, still on the road, already awakens to a scale beyond ordinary measure: within a single pore of his own body, buddha- and bodhisattva-bodies are entirely contained, and his unobstructed wisdom-eye beholds the dharma-realm and the realm of empty space of the ten directions, together with every dharma of the three times.
An Unobstructed Wisdom-Eye Beholds Every Dharma of the Three Times
「……滿足諸願，出生無量菩薩化身，讚歎三世一切諸佛菩薩法門；智慧覺悟，如來菩薩，一切至處自在神力；乃至一毛孔中，佛、菩薩身，皆悉充滿無礙智眼，觀十方法界及虛空界，三世諸法。爾時，善財如是恭敬供養，具諸願忍；以無量智，觀境界地。」
"… fulfilling every vow, giving rise to boundless bodhisattva transformation-bodies, praising the Dharma-gates of every buddha and bodhisattva of the three times; his wisdom awakened to the tathāgatas' and bodhisattvas' own sovereign spiritual power reaching every place; down to a single pore of his own body, buddha- and bodhisattva-bodies were entirely contained and filled within it; with his unobstructed wisdom-eye, he beheld the dharma-realm and the realm of empty space of the ten directions, and every dharma of the three times. At that time, Sudhana, reverencing and making offerings in this way, fully endowed with every vow and every forbearance, contemplated the ground of that objective realm with boundless wisdom."
"Down to a single pore... buddha- and bodhisattva-bodies were entirely contained and filled within it" previews, in Sudhana's own contemplative experience while still traveling, the exact principle the tower itself will soon demonstrate at an even greater scale — containment without diminishment, the vast held within the small. Fazang reads this as no coincidence: Sudhana's own accumulated practice has already brought him to the threshold of the very insight the tower's own architecture embodies, before he has even arrived at its gate.
